Higher Love

Love has a quiet way of restoring what life tries to fracture. But this is a Higher Love, the kind that does not withdraw when we feel unworthy, does not grow tired of our healing process, and does not wait for us to become perfect before calling us beloved. It chases what feels lost, softens what has hardened, and reminds us that grace and forgiveness are the gentle balm God offers to tired hearts and wounded places.
Many of us live as though we are waiting to be chosen, hoping to be seen, accepted, or finally enough. Yet love begins with a different truth: we are already chosen. God’s love is not earned through performance; it is received through surrender. The Sabbath reminds us of this each week, an invitation to lay down striving and rest in the generosity of a God who restores.
As Maya Angelou wrote, “Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope.” Love does not erase our stories; it redeems them. Scripture anchors us: “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.” (1 Peter 4:8). Love is sacred strength, healing families, restoring friendships, and reminding us that redemption is always possible. "Love is the highest energy; it transcends distance and time." Unkown
Today, if love feels hard to recognize, begin small: pause, breathe, receive kindness without apology, and let grace meet you where you are. You do not have to chase what has already chosen you.
May your heart rest in the assurance that you are already loved, already seen, and already held. May grace soften what has grown weary, and may the peace of Sabbath restore what life has stretched thin. May love find you, and through you, may love heal others.
Happy Perpetual Love Restoration Day — rest well in the love of a generous God.
Where grace connects, love restores.
